Let's talk to the thermostats!

Programmable and smart tech provide control, comfort
We experience all the beauty and mystery of Mother Nature’s four seasons in Wisconsin. Typically, in April, you’re packing up gloves, boots and down jackets because spring is finally here. By the weekend, it’s snowing again!
You can’t control the weather, but you can control your home’s interior climate easily and economically. Start with the HVAC system you have. Martens Plumbing & Heating technicians can check the health of your HVAC and thermostat, ensuring they work together to provide a predictable, comfortable temperature throughout your home.
If not, maybe it’s time to upgrade from your standard thermostat. Programmable thermostats and smart thermostats give you more control over your personal comfort and home-energy expenses.
Programmable, flexible, cost-effective and comfortable
Programmable and smart thermostats are sophisticated, user-friendly home technology. Smart and programmable thermostats talk to your HVAC system—offering clear commands and predictability that reduce stress on HVAC systems and can prolong their life.
Comfort is your guide as you set your home’s temperature, hour to hour or day to day, and adjust it to meet your needs and schedule. No more forgetting to turn the thermostat down before you leave for work!
Lower your utility costs and your home's carbon footprint by setting your thermostat to a cooler temperature while you're at work or asleep during colder months.
Summer to late fall, program your thermostat settings to provide cold air when you're home and keep things cool and transfer to a lower energy setting when you're away.
Smart thermostats
Smart thermostats may cost more to purchase and install but their long-term impact is priceless. Smart thermostats integrate WiFi and traditional power sources so you can manage home HVAC settings from a smartphone.
Adjust settings anytime/anywhere.
Connect a new thermostat to other smart devices to activate voice commands, get more intel on where your home uses and loses energy, and make your thermostat a hub for home operations.
Review data from your thermostat and fine tune HVAC settings to reduce costs and boost comfort.
Programmable thermostats
Programmable thermostats operate like a home-security system for your HVAC. Sync your thermostat and your schedule to use less energy when you’re away (or asleep) and program the perfect temperature for your return home. Programmable thermostats have hourly, daily and weekly settings so you can adjust temps and times for any reason. Some models provide alerts when your HVAC is struggling so you can assess minor malfunctions before they require a big repair.
Installing a new thermostat: Call an expert
Martens technicians perform routine maintenance and run diagnostics on HVAC systems of all kinds. Our heating and air conditioning team can integrate programmable or smart thermostat technologies with your home’s current HVAC. To maximize customization and cost savings, some clients have Martens install a new thermostat and HVAC at the same time or during a Peace of Mind service.
Smart thermostats
Every heating-cooling control circuit has four wires. Smart thermostats require more complex circuitry, including a fifth wire, called a common or c-wire. The c-wire connects a thermostat to Wi-Fi and low-voltage power so digital displays and touch screens work properly. Don’t DIY this one, please.
HVAC technicians from Martens and other HVAC service providers have expert knowledge and can help clients select a smart thermostat.
Advanced home tech requires advanced expertise. Licensed, reputable technicians are the right people to install and service your smart thermostat.
Comfort counts
The right thermostat makes the most of your HVAC to keep you comfortable at home. Standard, programmable and smart models can get the job done. Whether you’re looking to install a smart thermostat or service a standard model, Martens Plumbing & Heating technicians are ready to review your options. Pick up that smartphone and give us a call.
